Addressing the beneficiaries who were carefully selected through the major stakeholders in the community, like religious organizations, community development associations, traditional leaders, teachers, artisan and merit based, after screening their O” level results, was the Council Chairman. Hon Emmanuel Bamigboye as the last JAMB forms to be given by his administration as his second term tenure comes to an end.
The Council Chairman advised the beneficiaries to be focused and determined to achieve academic success in the examination because it is the only way they can fashion out a better future for themselves and be a good ambassador of the community.
“I will advise you not to take this opportunity for granted, there are many people who are looking for this opportunity you got on a platter of gold, read your books and study very hard by focusing on your academics as it is the surest path to greatness and better future for yourselves and be a good ambassador of your family and the community at large”, the Chairman said.
Speaking with Mushines News, the Chairman rolled out some of his achievements in education, “We have a fully AC bus that takes our pupils to and fro, home and school every day, as free school ride, constructed and renovated many primary schools, the Army Children Primary School at NAFRC, Charity. We just finished the renovation of Ayetoro Primary School with distribution of Chairs and benches. Repaired many of our primary schools walls, distribution of exercise books termly to all primary schools” pupils with writing materials, school bags.
“We just started the renovation of Baruwa Primary School in Itire. The school is not in good condition, and raining season will soon come, so to protect the building, we are renovating the school presently.” The Chairman said.
He added that his admiration had distributed fully kitted first-aid boxes to all primary schools in Mushin and planning to have a quiz competition among the pupils very soon.
The Supervisory Councilor on Education, Hon. Semiu Karaole, aka KAMS, said the gesture is to make the beneficiaries know that education is the key and road to success; even if you succeed in life and you lack education, you are nothing.
“Education is the key so that the beneficiaries can pursue education at a higher institution, and the Chairman does encourage them with coaching classes at different centres; he has been giving bursaries to undergraduates in Mushin, which many beneficiaries of the free JAMB forms are enjoying.,” said KAMS.
Babatunde Ayoola, one of the beneficiaries who spoke with Mushine News thanked the Chairman for the opportunity and promised to read very well, come out with good scores and secure admission into his choice of school.
