In a decisive move to restore peace and stability in Mushin, the Convener of Mushine One Love and Chairman of the Mushin Branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Rasaq Folorunsho, popularly known as Abija Amani, has issued a stern warning to warring cult groups responsible for recent insecurity and violence in the Anifowoshe Street axis and surrounding areas of Idi-Oro in Mushin.

The peace meeting, held at Anifowoshe Street, was convened as part of the conflict resolution strategy of Mushine One Love, a grassroots initiative aimed at promoting unity and peaceful coexistence within the community. The gathering attracted key leaders and stakeholders in the area, including the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Alakara Police Station, ACP Garuba Oseni, who reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining law and order.

Addressing the youths and suspected cult members, Amani read the riot act, warning that any individual or group found engaging in acts of violence, intimidation, or actions capable of disrupting public peace would face the full weight of the law. He also cautioned community stakeholders against aiding or abetting criminal activities, stressing that anyone found complicit would be held accountable.

He emphasized that Mushin cannot afford to relapse into an era of fear and bloodshed, noting that sustainable development and economic progress can only thrive in a peaceful environment. According to him, the Mushine One Love platform remains committed to dialogue, reconciliation, and proactive engagement as tools for resolving conflicts.

ACP Garuba Oseni, in his remarks, assured residents that security agencies would intensify surveillance and intelligence gathering in the area. He urged youths to shun cultism and embrace productive ventures, warning that law enforcement authorities would not hesitate to take decisive action against troublemakers.

The meeting reportedly ended on a positive note, with mutual understanding reached among the concerned parties. The youths present pledged to sheath their swords and embrace peaceful coexistence for the progress of the community.

Residents expressed optimism that the intervention would mark a turning point in addressing the recurring clashes that have unsettled the Anifowoshe Street area in recent times.

The peace initiative concluded with a unifying chant that echoed through the gathering:

“MUSHINE, ONE LOVE KEEP US TOGETHER!”
