The periodic financial support to aged and less previleged embarked upon by the administration of Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, Chairman of Mushin Local Government has given hope to the most vulnerable elders who can't afford to pay or buy their basic health and social needs.

The 164 senior citizens from the age of 65 years and above who have being benefiting from the social welfare package were carefully selected from CDA and community members recommendation can't hide their joyful feelings as the white envelope containing the cash stipend were handed over to them at the 7th edition at the Council Secretariat.

The Chairman made it known while addressing press men that the elders are great assets in our community and they are truly weak, voiceless, lonely and downcast in our society, have limited power to embark on economic activities and personal pursuits which had made him to embark on the financial support as a means of reducing their financial burden to aid their longevity and prevent them from social isolation, and ultimately continue to give advisory role to the community.

Furthermore, the Chairman enjoined the elders to speak to the people in their various community to vote for all the candidates of APC in the forth coming general election so that they can continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy.

The HOD of Information Department, Mr. Yomi Eniafe who compere the event made the elders know that the chairman is so passionate to help them because our community need their words of advice in everyday life.

Also, the HOD of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs Adeko Olayinka advised the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously not for social purpose but to take care of their basic needs.

Mr. Peter Falade, one of the beneficiaries said the chairman really surprise him as he had being benefiting from the scheme since the beginning, thanked and prayed for the chairman.
