The constant attacks that have made life unbearable for Mushin residents living around Olosha, the Alasalatu area of Mushin LGA, have left many residents in constant fear.

On Wednesday, 2 July, 2025 these hoodlums numbering about 30 attacked residents within the area of Mushalasi, Adeyemi, Ogungbaye, down to Paul Okuntola Street.

They came into the area through Moshalasi street from Agege Motor Road side, throwing bottles and shouting thieves at themselves, 'Ole! ole!!", when they are the thieves, grinding cutllasses on the ground, some covered their faces with cloths or handkerchiefs, forcefully dispossessing valuable items like phones, handbags and money from victims who fall into their hands and, smashing cars windscreen.

Over 30 cars vandalised, a countless number of shops looted, many people were dispossessed of their valuable items like phones, handbags and terrorised on more than five streets.

This attack is the third time it has happened since last weekend. As they were moving, some boys within the area quickly teamed up to repel them but they were overpowered because the hoodlums had guns. One of the boys who repelled said, "They have guns with them, so we have to run inside and allow them to go their way".

A little 10-year-old, Wasiu, living at No 38, Ogungbaye Street was sent to buy something from the next Street Onifade street passing through the link road, as the hoodlums entered Onifade Street shooting at the people, stray bullets from the hoodlums hit the boy and died after a few mnutes.

The entire community is thrown into a state of mourning, shops closed, gates closed, when will these constant attacks by hoodlums stop, when will the people sleep with their two eyes closed.

The residents are calling on the government and security agencies to be proactive in finding a lasting solution to the social unrest in the community caused by these hoodlums.
