In 2009,, the Lagos State government scrapped some secondary schools which its identity are not relevant to their host community as a result of boundary adjustment which Mushin High School, Okota was affected, and the old students association of the defunct secondary school appealed to the State to bring the school to its root community.
Recently, the school's old students association delegates led by Hon. Aro Fskorede and Lagos Ministry of Education inspected Mushin Local Government Primary School complex for possible construction of the school as proposed by the old students association to rebuild the school within Mushin community.
Hon. Aro made it known that Mushin High School, Mushin boys high school, Mushin Girls High School which were located at Okota school complex have all been scrapped because the community is no longer under Mushin Local Government due to boundary adjustment.
"Three schools at Okota in Isolo was scrapped by the state government in 2009 as the host community complained that the name of those school doesn't represent the present reality of the host community and Mushin High School which we the Old Students Association members felt the legacy of the school should not go like that by appealing to the state government to rebuild the school within Mushin so that we can bring back the old glory of our school and Mushin Local Government Primary School complex was proposed to host the school which we and the state ministry of education came to inspect the possibility of building the school here." Said Hon. Aro.
During the inspection, the school complex presently housed four primary schools namely: Ayetoro Primary School, Mushin Local Government Primary, Megbon Primary School and Isolo Road Primary School which presently occupied two major buildings and the open land with the dilapidated building are marked for the construction of the defunct secondary school which an approval must be gotten from SUBEB as directed by the State Ministry of Education team before taking possession for the proposed construction.
The CDA members of the community joined the inspection team in marking the portion of the land and they expressed great joy that a secondary school of such height is coming to their community and explained some of the environmental nuisances going on around the school most especially by the dilapidated building and by building the secondary school on the marked land it will send the hoodlums away.
