The rate at which cults clash increase in our community call for serious actions from the government and people as a community to check the menace before it completely gets out of hand.

This is not peculiar to our community alone, it happens everywhere in Lagos and is a reflection of the level of insecurity in the country. If you live within Palm Avenue and Papa Ajao area, the ugly ambushing, shooting, and killing that happened some weeks ago which led to the death of two people and one still receiving treatment, call for serious dialogue.

Also, the menace of two societies that led to an attack on Ilupeju residents on Thursday,18 February, 2021 and so many reported and unreported gang-related violence and attack in the community call for great worry as concerned #Mushines.

Alhaja Balogun Tawakalitu Ajoke, the CDA Chairperson of Amu, Adedokun,, and CAC street narrated how the last attack that happened by CAC/ Palm Avenue junction and shared her opinion on the rate at which these boys become violent against one another this day and called on the government, individuals and organizations to look for proactive measures and solutions to nib the growing menace of cultism among our boys in the community.

"I must confess to you, our community is not safe anymore because the rate at which these boys kill themselves calls for serious action as it is completely out of hand. What they do every day is to just wake in the morning, drink and smoke hard substance and any little provocation or misunderstanding among them, it is serious fighting, because they are less or not gainfully engaged, am seriously worried." Alhaja said.

Narrating the story of how two boys were killed, "The incident occurred in the night around 9 pm, it was observed that two boys were on a bike running after one guy from CAC/ Palm Avenue Junction, then the boy ran into CAC street to escape but was overpowered, while he was struggling with them, one boy who was a cobbler and owns viewing centre by Buari street exit along Palm Avenue saw them and tried to intervene, thinking they were just fighting, not knowing it was going to his last words. As the two guys were struggling with the first guy, they noticed people coming toward them and quickly masked up,  pulled the trigger, and killed their target and the innocent boy trying to make peace."

The Chairperson also attributed the cause to the community not being vigilant of their environment, citing a case of a boy who has no family or relations in the community and constitutes a nuisance. She advised community members not to allow unknown people to use their area as hideouts or domicile because it is this kind of boys that always want social unrest to happen so that they can take advantage of it to torment innocent people going about their normal business.

She also made it known that there are some members of the community who are into this social violent and cultism in the community, who harbor these unknown people probably they are using them as a shield against any external and internal aggression, these sets of people needed to be seriously cautioned.

She emphatically said that this issue is beyond advising them to shun violence and cultism because the act has become their daily routine and some of them are making daily income in causing violent due to the security lapses that made it possible for them to cause mayhem.

So everybody's hands must be on deck to change the narrative because of the younger generation not to emulate them.

Equally, the CDA Chairman of Oduduwa,  Deacon Tunde Emmanuel buttress the point that the government has a lot of work to do on this cultism of a thing in our community, the absence of adequate policemen to patrol our community frequently is another major cause of insecurity everywhere.

He lamented that most of the boys are fighting for street supremacy and credibility by putting their life and people around them in danger, this has to stop and be condemned. This unproductive behaviour is becoming contagious as young children are getting into the waves of violence seeing what the older ones as mentors are doing and getting away with it.
