As the ruling party, All Progressives Congress moving toward the primary elections to elect party flagbearers for the 2023 general elections, aspirants in Mushin Constituency 1 and ll have started wooing and consulting party leaders and executive members who are likely to be the delegates for the primary election for their support to get the party tickets for the Federal House Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly.
The wooing began with aspirants visiting various leaders like the Apex leader in Mushin and Odiolowo Ojuwoye, distinguished Senator Ganiu Olarewaju Solomon, Alhaji Taofeek Faronbi, Iya Luku, Elder Longe, and others, including groups that make up the APC family in Mushin and Odiolowo Ojuwoye.
In Mushin Constituency 1, Odiolowo Ojuwoye LCDA has fewer aspirants as some party members disclosed that the two present sitting representatives are doing well which made most of the other aspirants dropped their aspirations as only 2 aspirants each obtained forms for the Federal House of Representatives and State House of Assembly nomination and expression of interest forms, according to Hon. Babatunde Kaseem, Chairman of the Party LCDA Chapter.
Hon. Yemi Alli seeking reelection for a second term and Hon. Funmilayo Tejuosho, a former House of Assembly member who served three terms in office is seeking the Federal House of Representatives ticket.
For the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nureni Akinsanya, a sitting Assemblymember serving his first term and seeking the second term, and Hon. Saheed Mabinuori, a former Commissioner at The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission ( LASIEC) joined in the race
Alhaji Babatunde Shittabey, the Chairman of APC, Mushin LGA Chapter, disclosed that 5 aspirants each have obtained forms as of the closed sales of forms for the Federal and State Constituency.
The following aspirants have obtained forms for the Federal House of Representatives; Hon. Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla, seeking a third term, has served three terms as Lagos State House of Assemblymember, Hon. Seye Oladejo, a political leader of the SOKO Group, former Chairman of Mushin LGA, former Lagos State Commissioner and Special Adviser, two terms present Spokesman of the ruling APC party, Lagos State Chapter, Hon. Toyin Fayinka, a former Secretary to Mushin LGA, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu on Transportation, Hon. Musibau Babatunde Alli-Balogun, a socialite and Estate developer based in London and Hon. Prince Raymond Shopesi, is a London-based businessman and great socialite.
Also, four aspirants and the serving member of the Lagos State House of Assembly are in the race for the Lagos State House of Assembly ticket as the serving member, Hon. Olayiwola Abdulsobur Olawale seeks reelection for the third term and the following aspirants are ready to battle it out with him; Hon. Yinka Kaseem, a seasoned politician and former Sole Administrator of Mushin, LGA, Hon. Wale Arogundade a politician, Hon. Toyin Aremu, a young glass merchant and Hon. Sumonu, a young US-based IT expert have all purchased and returned their forms as the party screen aspirants on Thursday, 12 2022.
As they are wooing the delegates and canvassing for their support, the Executive Chairmen of Mushin LGA and Odiolowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye and Hon. Rasaq Olushola Ajala respectively, along with the party Chairmen of the LGA and LCDA have urged the aspirants to maintain the present peaceful atmosphere and embrace whosoever emerges as only one seat available for each office.
Mushines wish them good luck and admonish the winners to drive more developmental projects and quality representation to the constituents.
