Rasaq Ajala, and presented some of the challenges of the facility to him with a special request to have a dedicated building for eye treatment because I am an ophthalmologist and I want to make my mark here.
"Upon that request, the Chairman promised to come and see what to do, and here we are today, commissioning the block D building of the hospital renovated by the Council Chairman and it has kicked off specialised eye treatment courtesy of the Chairman, Hon Ajala, which service has commenced since 1st of September 2024," She said.
The Council Chairman, addressing the people, applauded the M. D of the hospital for the initiative of having a centre for eye treatment which was not available in the facility before now.
He made it known that in returning the M. D visit to the LCDA, he visited the hospital along with his team to inspect the facility considering her request for the eye centre and the block D was the only building with space and the state of the building is not conducive which the council embarked on renovating the building, making it conducive for the centre.
"In returning our visit to the Council, we were taken around the facility looking for a space to have the eye centre and the block D building was the only one with a space but in bad condition, and to make it conducive for the eye centre, we renovated the building by changing the roof, ceiling, doors, repaired cracked walls and repainted it," Ajala said.
