The immediate past Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, has been inaugurated as the coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for Mushin and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, marking a significant moment for grassroots engagement in the area. His inauguration formed part of the swearing-in ceremony of 20 coordinators under the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative, led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the 10 Degrees Event Centre, Oregun, Ikeja. The governor also presented 20 vehicles to aid the coordinators in reaching communities across their local government areas, stressing that the initiative is focused on public awareness and civic engagement rather than political campaigning.
Bamigboye’s appointment is seen as a strategic move, given his track record of leadership and development strides during his tenure as Mushin LGA chairman. Widely regarded as a seasoned grassroots mobiliser throughout his political journey, he is expected to leverage his experience, local connection, and understanding of community needs to drive effective sensitisation on Federal Government policies and programmes. The ambassadors are tasked with taking the message of President Bola Tinubu’s reforms directly to the people, communicating in local languages and engaging residents in markets, campuses, and neighbourhoods.
Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the initiative aims to deepen public understanding of ongoing reforms, which he said have stabilised key economic indicators, improved workers’ welfare, and supported major infrastructure projects such as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto–Badagry Highway. Chief of Staff Tayo Ayinde, who will coordinate the ambassadors’ activities, described the programme as a bridge between government and citizens. The event attracted party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, traders’ representatives, youth groups, and other stakeholders.
