The Chairman of Odiolowo Ojuwuye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Olushola Ajala addressed the press crew in a press conference, hosted today Friday 26 November 2021 at Odiolowo Ojuwoye LCDA Secretariat hall to launch another creative idea in propagating the administration's Common Pool for Common Benefit policy, aimed at changing the narrative about Mushin community with sporting activities called Odi Olowo Ojuwoye Sports Fiesta 2021 with up to 20 Million Naira to be shared among winners from each category.

The Chairman made it known that the LCDA is known for sporting activities before by engaging and supporting the sportsmen and women in the community which several sports talents in the community have made the community proud across the state, country, and beyond the shore of the country, 

"When our boxers have made us proud in faraway South Africa by winning medals for male and female categorize in a boxing competition. Also, our youth football team, males and female have made us proud by winning trophies for the LCDA in the inter-local government football event in the state a few years ago". He added.

He said the aim of the fiesta is to take the youth off the street by allowing them to unveil their hidden talents in sporting activities, who may represent the LCDA, the State or country in the global competition in the future like Taiwo Agbaja ( Esepo) a Mushine, born and bred in the LCDA making the community proud by winning his first international boxing title recently in Europe.

The Chairman further reveal that the Odi- Olowo Ojuwoye Sports Fiesta will be kicked off with a street walk, called "Walking For The Community That Work For Us"  on Saturday 27, 2021 tomorrow morning as other activities scheduled were announced with the following sports categories; Street Soccer, Boxing, Basketball, Table Tennis, Draught and 52 Card Game.

Advising the participants and the people of the community not to constitute security threat at any of the ward the preliminary will be staged, urging them to take ownership of the event.



A series of questions, observations, and suggestions were raised by quests after the address by the Chairman, which the Chairman did justice to by giving the significance and impact his administration has had on the people and the community at large through his various creative ideas launched into grassroots governance.

The Vice-Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande advised the participants to see the fiesta as the opportunity to make their dreams come true as several scouting agencies are ready to attend the sports fiesta to discover new talents and the participants should act with the spirit of sportsmanship.

Mr. Daniyan Adekunle aka Coach Ashimota, a member of the community who is a boxing coach of great repute, was recently elected as the Technical Representative of Nigeria Boxing Federation. He promised to wow boxing fans in the community with great boxers who are likely to be taken into greater competition in the state.
