The 2023 elections are just in three days and the electorate will vote for their choice of party and candidates who will run the affairs of the federal and state governments for the next four years. The ruling party, All Progressives Congress, Lagos state chapter, hosted a meeting with the traditional birth attendants in Lagos West Senatorial District to enlighten them on the dos and don'ts of elections and wooed them to vote for APC candidates in their various constituencies that make the district.

The Lagos West Senatorial district is the biggest senatorial district in Lagos and the traditional birth attendants under the umbrella of the Traditional Birth Attendants Association gathered at Mushin Civic Centre of the Mushin Library Complex, Bishop Aggey Street, to canvass for their votes and make their loved ones, patients, neighbours to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming general elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 25th for the federal election and Saturday, March 11th 2023 for the state election.

Speaking at the event, Chief Sunday Aboyade, Vice Chairman Lagos West 1, giving the welcome address, analysed the strength of all the APC candidates right from the presidential. candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu for Governor, Dr Mrs Idiat Adebule for Senate, down to the candidates in Mushin constituencies, canvassed votes for APC party candidates and promised the birth attendants more engagement to improve their practice.

Barrister Ademola Sadiq, the former Legal Adviser of the party-state chapter, sensitized the gathering on voter education, how to vote and make it count by using the index finger to thumbprint on the empty box beside the APC broom logo properly on the ballot paper to avoid a void vote.


The APC candidates for Federal House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly in Mushin Constituency 2, Hon. Toyin Fayinka and Hon. Yinka Kaseem respectively assured the people that their votes will not be taken for granted by delivering qualitative representation to the people.


Speaking on behalf of the association, Prince Dr Olusesi Tajudeen Mare the National President of the Association of Traditional Mid-wives of Nigeria and State President of Traditional Birth Attendants, said the Lagos State government under the leadership of Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu has done so much for the association since he assumed office by upgrading them intern of training of members which has improved them in delivery quality birth delivery practices and he has promised them more, and expressed full assurance that their members will do more than voting and canvassing votes for APC.

The Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, delivering the goodwill message appealed to the people to come out en mass with thief family members, and neighbours to vote massively for APC candidates in their various constituencies because everyone has to deliver his or her polling unit so that Lagos state can boast of the winning votes for Asiwaju which will have a greater effect in term of federal projects intervention to the state.
