The just concluded general election to elect new executive members of Ladipo International Spare Parts Market in Mushin that was held on 6th March 2024, which the Central Executive Committee members elected were 100% nonindigenous people of Mushin which raised concern and agitation from the Yoruba indigenes in the market leading to a stakeholders meeting to address the post-election matters.

On Tuesday, 26 March 2024, the stakeholders comprised of the new executives' members and other key players and traders in the market had a meeting to address the controversy as regards the composition of the new executives and agreed to put an end to the issue.

Speaking at the meeting, the new Ladipo Central Executive Committee of Auto Dealers Association (LACEC), President General, Prince Africanus Ogudero made it known that his administration is open to everyone, both the Igbo and indigenous people in the market because he came to serve the people of Ladipo market with an open mind. 

Also speaking at the meeting was Alhaji Jamiu Adetunji aka Fine Sharo, who made it known to the Igbo traders in the market that they have to carry the indigenous people in the market along because it is their land and they are the ones who supported the Igbo traders to build their business.

He narrated lots of stories that have gone in the past which built the market structure to where it is today, and it is a known fact that the indigenous need to be carried along despite that the market is predominantly dominated by the Igbo traders and advised that both the Yoruba and the Igbo in the market should speak in one voice to take the market to the next level. 

The Baba Oja of Ladipo, Eze Igwe Monday Lawrence in attendance at the meeting said it is high time the people in the market speak in one voice so that the enemies of the market do not prevail in their hidden agenda, alleging that the enemies within are the Igbos and should not be allow to break the market.

He advised the new executive to work hand in hand with the local government and every other government agency in the market.

It was collectively agreed by everyone in the meeting to speak in one voice and include the indigenous LACEC members and it was reliably gathered that Alhaji Fine Sharo with three other Yoruba indigenes should be included in the LACEC and put an end to the post-election issues.
