Residents of Mushin Local Government are experiencing improved electricity supply and enhanced public safety following a series of strategic interventions by the Executive Chairman, Olatunbosun Haruna Aruwe.

In a move to address persistent power challenges, the council boss facilitated the installation of new transformers across key parts of Mushin. One of the newly installed transformers now serves the Taxi Park axis, covering Saka Street, Sanusi Street, and parts of Isolo Road, restoring a stable electricity supply to homes and businesses in the area.

Similarly, another transformer was provided at the nearly completed Omodigbo Primary Health Centre to guarantee uninterrupted power for efficient healthcare service delivery. This development is expected to significantly improve medical services and patient care within the community.

In Oke Mushin, residents of Wey Street, Oguntoye Street, Moroluke Street, and adjoining areas including Dakobiri Street, Market Street, Ojo Road, and Olufunmilayo Street also benefited from a new transformer installation. The intervention replaces the previous erratic “one day on, one day off” electricity situation, ushering in a more stable and reliable power supply for households and small-scale businesses.

Beyond electricity, the administration is also prioritising community safety and urban development. During an inspection tour, Aruwe assessed the ongoing installation of solar-powered streetlights across Kusheyi Street, Aregbe Street, Anipele Street, and Alafia Street. The project aims to enhance visibility, improve security, and foster a more welcoming environment for residents.

Speaking on the initiatives, the chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth, and improved quality of life for the people. He emphasised that the projects are part of a broader agenda to deliver people-oriented governance and sustainable development across Mushin.

Residents have lauded the efforts, noting that improved electricity and street lighting will not only enhance daily living but also stimulate local economic activities and strengthen community safety.
