As the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter is preparing for the state Congress where new executive members will be elected and aspirants have started to express their interest in various positions of the State Executives.
Our own great Mushine and ambassador of youth, the Co-ordinator of the NYCN's Odiolowo Ojuwoye Chapter whose impact and leadership are compared to non, Comrade Engineer Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan declared his interest to contest for the Chairmanship of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter.
At the declaration of interest that occurred yesterday, Thursday 13, June 2024 at the Odiolowo Ojuwoye LCDA Secretariat Hall where youths from all walks of life within the state are present to show their solidarity to Mr. Capacity as he's fondly called by the youths.
Addressing the Council's leaders, LGA Chapters' Coordinators, various youth group leaders, and members while reading his declaration speech, made it clear that he's contesting to do things differently and get great results which his campaign agenda is based on three Ps namely: Professionalism, Productivity, and Publicity in the development of youths in Lagos, having excelled as the Co-ordinator of Odiolowo Ojuwoye Chapter.
He said, "I look forward to your unwavering support and partnership, which will be a vital cornerstone of our endeavors, as we work together to unlock the full potential of the youth in Lagos State. Your support will be a game-changer, enabling us to create a future that is ripe with possibility and long-lasting impact.
"I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where every voice is valued and every perspective matters. We will proactively amplify the diverse voices and interests of our youth members, ensuring their active participation in shaping our decisions, initiatives, and programs, and fostering a culture of belonging, equity, and collective growth.
"Collectively, we can shape a future that unlocks the full potential of Lagos' youth, fostering an inclusive and prosperous environment where every individual can thrive.
"By uniting our efforts, we can create a transformative landscape that bridges the gaps in opportunities, resources, and support, ultimately empowering the youth to become drivers of progress, innovation, and sustainable development.
"Together, we can build a Lagos that is synonymous with hope, promise, and a brighter tomorrow for generations to come".
In solidarity support, the Lagos West Senatorial Districts LGA/LCDA co-ordinators and Heads of Voluntary Youth Organisations present, openly declared their support for his chairmanship course, promising their votes at the Congress saying that they know he can lead the Council to an enviable state.
Speaking with Mushines News, the Chairmanship aspirant said the State Council needs a tested and trusted Chairman, and his achievements at the LCDA Chapter have spoken for him.
"My achievements as the Co-ordinator of Odiolowo Ojuwoye Chapter are everywhere from skill development and acquisition to first of its kind award, seminar and retreat for youths, with breakfast session to address youth challenges and to bring these and more achievement to the state level which will reposition the Council and youth of Lagos.
"I'm putting myself forward to serve the youth of Lagos State for greater height, add value to the THEMES+ agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State." He said.
Comrade Ademosun Jamiu Adeyemi, the outgoing Vice-Chairman of the Council's Lagos West Senatorial District, described him as an inspirational leader who has inspired a lot of youths within and outside the Council with his unparallel intellect and leadership skills, and his enormous impact to the council at the Lagos West Senatorial District made everyone to associate with him, believing is the best among others to leader the State Chapter.
"We at the Lagos West Senatorial District of the NYCN couldn't have achieved greatly without him because he's such a resourceful person with some much intellectual capacity to lead, because of that, the entire Lagos West is in support of him which has never happened before, for the senatorial district to push towards a single candidate which is Engineer Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, (AIO) " He added.
A national leader of the Council, who was formerly the PRO at the National Council, Ambassador Chris Ebe, said the declaration day is a special day for some of those who believe in youth development as one of the national leaders who have been clamoring for valuable leaders in the Council because valuable leaders are eroding in the Council and having Comrade Adigun at the Lagos State Chairman will bring those values back to the Council.
He advised every youth going to cast their votes during the Congress to look for valuable leaders based on merit not aspirants who do not show ingenuity in youth development.
On behalf of the Executive and members of Odioolowo Ojuwoye Chapter of the Council, Ambassador Mustapha O. Yakub and others presented face capss with the inscription "P3 Agenda" as Campaign souvenirs to their outgoing Co-ordinator as support for his campaign and formed an independent campaign group called AOI Crusader.
A general campaign committee was inaugurated called Adigun Olalekan Ibrahim (AOI) for the Chairman Campaign Committee has different directorates to lead one of Mushines best braibrainsvictory at the State Congress election coming soon.
