The Lagos State House of Assembly member, Hon. Yinka Kaseem aka Esho Cares, representing Mushin Constituency 2, has facilitated the reconstruction of Ogun Street and Anjorin Street roads as his 2024 constituency projects.
The Honourable, speaking with Mushines News, made it known that the road reconstruction has been facilitated since last year as a 2024 constituency project, which has facilitated other roads in the constituency in the past.
"We have facilitated several road projects in the past, like Ishaga Road and Akanro Street, we resurfaced the two roads, also Agege Motor Road by Oshodi Terminal 1 inward Mushin from the pedestrian bridge, we repaired and built drainage preventing it from flooding when it rains., all these were done through the Lagos State Public Works Corporation.
"The ongoing reconstruction of Ogun and Anjorin streets is my 2024 constituency project. The road in question is very strategic, but due to its dilapidated condition, most motorists dare to ply the road to link Itire road from Alasalatu area, so when completed, it will relieve the motorists from taking the long route." He said.
He added that the road will have solar streetlights that will enhance the security system of the area, considering the incessant attacks by hoodlums at night.
He campaigned for the All Progressives Congress APC candidates as the local government election is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 12 July 2025.
"I want to seize this opportunity to campaign for our party APC candidates, that the people of Mushin should vote for all our party candidates come July 12, for the local government elections, I want the people to continue to support our party and promised that our candidates will not disappoint, " Hon. Esho said.
Reacting to the project, residents were happy to see the reconstruction of the road, saying it had been a long time since such a thing happened in their area and appreciated the representative for coming to their area.
Mr Saheed Anthony, living at 17, Anjorin Street, one of the stakeholders in the community, described the development as the greatest thing to happen in their area presently.
"We are happy that this kind of development is coming to our area, it has been a long time since such a thing happened, and we really appreciate our Honourable, Yinka Esho, who brought this to our area." He said.
On the maintenance of the road, he said the road will be well-maintained by the residents, making sure that no one misuses it, because the road, when completed, will beautify the area.
The site engineer, Mr. Oladejo Dotun, who is supervising the work, said the Ogun Street road spans 166 meters while Anjorin Street is 200 meters and drainages on both sides of the two roads, with solar-powered street lights.
He advised the residents to maintain the road by not allowing anybody to trade on the walkway or do mechanical work on the road because these acts reduce the lifespan of the road.
At the time of this report, construction of the drainage at Anjorin Street has started, and the project will be completed in the next three months.
