Hon. Emmanuel Bamignoye receiving medical check up @ the free medical outreach 

Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Health District VI covering Mushin, Ikeja, Oshodi and Ejigbo partnered with Mushin Local Government to flag off the state government free medical outreach mission tagged "Alafia Eko" at Arch-bishop Aggey Memorial Secondary School field, Mushin on Thursday, 30 May 2024.

Residents of Mushin and Odiolowo Ojuwoye were mobilised to the venue and given free medical check-ups and services like diabetes screening, eyes test with free eyeglasses, dental, tuberculosis, blood sugar, hypertension, malaria test, follow-up, and referring of severe cases, and drugs dispensation. 

The Chairman of Mushin LGA, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, welcomed the people and appreciated Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadrid Hamsat for the free medical outreach to the grassroots to complement his monthly medical checkup for the council's staff and the residents.

I thanked the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadrid Hamsat far taking the health of our people seriously which is also a priority for us at the local council by hosting monthly medical checkups for our management and staff with the residents, taking it to their doorsteps across the 10 wards." The Chairman said. 

Speaking with Mushines News, the Chairman advised residents to be conscious of their health status because health is wealth by going for medical check-ups up all the things avert sudden health challenges. 

He mentioned some of his health programs and interventions which include the ongoing construction of the Primary Healthcare Centre at Idi-Araba and, the purchase of medical equipment and ambulances for Mushin General Hospital and all PHCs in the council and assured the people that the PHCs in Mushin are very effective and can deliver medical service of any kind as some operatie 24 hours. 

Also speaking was the representative of the Ministry of Health, Permanent Secretary,  Dr. Ambibola Mabogunje ably represented by Dr. Paul. Olaoluwa Williams, the Director of Environment of Health District VI. 

He said the program is running simultaneously at the LGAs under the health District VI which is the first phase of the program and the second phase will soon be announced. 

Disclosing that the state has embarked on so many free medical outreaches but this is a special one in which people can register for the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme for free and those under the policy to enjoy the free services. 

The height of the free medical outreach was the presentation of "Onuje Eko", Lagos Food to elders from Sixties years old and above, a Lagos State government food pack in a cartoon comprised of rice, semo, garri, and other food items. 

Madam Sikitat Abeni Ojelabi, one of the beneficiaries expressed great joy for attending the health mission, she let Mushines News know that her health has been stable since she has been attending some of the free medical checks the government is doing, thanking the Chairman and the Governor for the food and prayed for them.
