On Tuesday, 29th October 2024, the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, rewarded the outgoing Council-Manager, Comrade Adeshina Sogo Osikoya, and 37 retirees of Mushin Local Government from 2021 till date as the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Mushin Branch celebrated Staff's Week Forum 2024.

Speaking at the event, the Council Chairman described the outgoing Council Manager, who has been transferred to Onigbongbo LCDA, as a man of great wisdom and administrator per excellence, that his wealth of knowledge in governance can not be underscored and advised the staff to borrow a leave from him. 

"Comrade Sogo is a very resourceful and hard-working Council Manager because when he was with us at the Council, he added lots of value to our administration, was very cooperative and his wealth of knowledge about governance is up to date, we appreciate him, and other retirees who have worked diligently for the council as a way motivating other staff to be diligent in their work and to appreciate their contribution to the development of the community during their service". He said. 

He added that the present staff of the LGA should emulate the retirees and the former C. M. so that they also can be appreciated while leaving the service, advising them to work diligently and be of good service to the government. 

He advised the retirees that retirement is not a retirement from life but the moment to begin to reap the fruits of their labor. 

Comrade Olajide Akinola, the Chairman of the Mushin NULGE branch, said the Staff's Forum Week is celebrated annually to celebrate the civil service workforce for greater productivity and appreciated the Chairman for his great welfare package to the Council workforce, listed the Council Chairman's achievements for the staff and presented their challenges as well. 

In appreciation of the Council Chairman's welfare packages to the staff, the NULGE executive presented an award to the Chairman, celebrating with him as he was awarded the Best Council Chairman in Nigeria for Roads and Rural Integration projects. 

Gift items like television sets, gas cookers, rechargeable fans, ovens, tabletop fridges, etc., were presented to the retirees, and a solar chest deep freezer was given to the outgoing Council Manager. 

The new Council Manager, Mrs. Mojisola Gbajabiamila, said to whom much is given, much is expected that the staff should be upright in their duty so that they also can be appreciated when leaving the service and appreciated the Chairman for approving the celebration of Staff's Forum Week. 

The out-going Council Manager, comrade Sogo, expressed great appreciation for the gift given to him and other retirees, which shows that the Council Chairman is a good man who appreciates hard work and read out what the Chairman has achieved while serving with him, prayed, and wishes the Chairman well in his future and present endeavors.
