Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, Chairman of Mushin LGA and Hon. Rasaq Ajala, Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA wives, Mrs Olajumoke Bamigboye and Mrs Kehinde Ajala respectively empowered residents and donated materials to primary schools in their localities as a support to their husband in achieving their electoral promises to the people.

This was displayed during the February monthly meeting of the Lagos State Council Chairmen's Wives Association ( LASCCWA) held at Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Secretariat Hall on Thursday, 27 February 2025.

Addressing the Council chairmen's wives present was the Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Chairman, Hon. Rasaq Ajala, who expressed joy in seeing their wives supporting them in achieving good governance in their locality and assured them of continuous support in achieving every goal the association has and announced a million naira financial donation by Mushin Local Government Chairman and himself, 500 thousand naira each to support the association.

Speaking with Mushines News, Hon. Ajala described the gesture as an effective support system from their wives and thanked them a lot.

"As the name of the association implies, the Lagos State Council Chairmen's Wives Association ( LASCCWA) is an effective support system we have been enjoying from our wives, I really want to thank them and we will not disappoint them in achieving good governance in our localities and be husbands that they will be proud of,." He said.

He added that in fulfilment of the association's objective, the two hosts: his wife and counterpart, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, Chairman of Mushin Local Government wife, Mrs Olajumoke Bamigboye, deem it right to donate kitchen equipment, furniture, white boards to the three home economic centres within the LCDA and financial support to residents after needs assessment has been carried out

His counterpart's wife empowered residents with brand new sewing machines and financial support to residents of Mushin LGA.

The two hosts, Mrs Olajumoke Bamigboye and Mrs Kehinde Ajala while speaking with Mushines News explained that as good wives to their husbands, they must support their husbands to succeed in their duties to the people that voted for them, and they carry out such support at every local government they host their monthly meetings.

"We are the Lagos State Council Chairmen's Wives Association ( LASCCWA), a member of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), what we are doing today is supporting our husbands in achieving their electoral promises to the people who voted for them and we have been doing this every month, where ever we hold our monthly meeting.

"As good wives, we are the only supporting pillar to our husbands so that they can succeed in the assignment given to them through the people's mandate. In doing that, I'm giving brand new sewing machines to the artisans who really need the machine to improve on their work because we went around to see them rather than just giving the machines out to people without background checks.

"Also to assist our petty traders, mostly women, with financial assistance as a support to their businesses." Mrs Olajumoke Bamigboye, Wife of Mushin Council Chairman.

She advised women to be a supporting pillar or system to their husbands and the beneficiaries to make good use of the money and equipment given to them.

Mrs Kehinde Ajala, wife of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, said, "We have been doing this at every locality we have our monthly meeting in which the wives of the Chairmen within the host local government will look out to the certain specific need of the people or institution like schools which made me go to schools and asked them of their specific needs and I was told that the three home economic centres in the community need to be re-equip and listed all the materials needed, which I'm presenting to them today, I provided all the kitchen equipment with furniture, ceiling fan, white board and so on."

Also, the inclusive school for disabled children at Ojuwoye Primary School got classroom equipment and financial support for some petty traders with the LCDA.
