The Lagos State Police Command has paraded three suspected cultists identified as Christopher Amah, 28; Bada Olusesi, 38; and Magaji Yusuf, 34, who were arrested while allegedly holding a cult meeting involving approximately fifteen individuals.

Acting on intelligence during a routine patrol at the Elemoro area of Lekki, Lagos state, the police operatives stormed the gathering, arrested three suspects, while others fled. 

The police searched the arrested suspects and found a defaced Beretta pistol and a locally made pistol with one live cartridge, while investigations into the escaped suspects are ongoing.

According to the statement by the Lagos Police Command Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on the police X handle @LagosPoliceNG, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Olohundare Jimoh reaffirmed his commitment to eradicate cultism in the state, vowing that no criminal elements will find refuge under his leadership.

"Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected cultists in the Elemoro area of Lagos. The suspects, Christopher Amah ‘m’, aged 28, Bada Olusesi ‘m’, aged 38, and Magaji Yusuf ‘m’, aged 34, were arrested during their cult meeting on April 26, 2025.

"The operatives, while on routine patrol, got wind of an unlawful gathering of about fifteen individuals suspected to be cultists and acted swiftly, closing in on the group and successfully arresting three suspects, while others fled the scene. 

"A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of two firearms: a defaced Beretta pistol and a locally made pistol loaded with one unexpended cartridge. These weapons were seized, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects, as the investigation continues.

"The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterates his unwavering resolve to stamp out cultism across the state. He emphasises that under his leadership, there would be no hiding place for cultists or any criminal element."
