A popular mentally challenged elderly man, widely known as Omo Ologo around Ojuwoye Market, was found dead today on the median along Agege Motor Road, opposite the Mayflower Hotel junction, Mushin.
The deceased was well known to residents as a nomadic, mentally challenged individual who often wandered within the community, prayed for people, and begged for alms.
According to residents, the man was last seen sitting on the road median late on Saturday night, December 20, 2025. However, by Sunday morning, he was found lying motionless at the same spot. Passersby initially assumed he was asleep, but upon closer observation, they discovered that he was no longer breathing.
The incident has generated sympathy among community members, many of whom expressed deep sadness over the continued neglect of vulnerable persons living on the streets.
Residents are calling on relevant government agencies, including environmental and emergency services, to urgently evacuate the body to prevent decomposition and potential health risks.
As of the time of filing this report, the body remained at the scene, while residents continued to appeal for swift intervention by the appropriate authorities.
