The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) of the Mushin Olosan Police Division, under the Area D Command, has set a remarkable pace by officially launching its 2026 calendar ahead of the new year. The launch coincided with the division’s 2025 End-of-Year Party, held at the PCRC Office within the Olosan Police Barracks.
The well-attended event brought together the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Olosan Police Station, ASP Ayodeji Ayanwale, notable community leaders from Mushin, and PCRC leaders and members from various divisions under the Area D Command.
The gathering was a celebration of unity, service, and forward planning, as Mushin Olosan emerged the only PCRC division to unveil its new year calendar before the close of the preceding year.
Dignitaries at the event formally launched the calendar with financial pledges and commended the leadership of the Mushin Olosan PCRC for taking a bold and commendable step. They challenged other PCRC divisions within Area D Command and across Lagos State to emulate the initiative and commitment demonstrated by the division.
Representing the Olu of Mushin, Oba Fatai Aileru, the Baa’la of Mushinland, Chief Olabanji Fatai Olubisi, conveyed the goodwill message of the monarch to the committee. He applauded the members for their dedication to community service and launched the calendar on behalf of the king with a notable pledge, urging the committee to sustain its positive impact in the community.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the PCRC Area D Command, Engineer J. O. Ogungbe, expressed pride in the Mushin Olosan Division, describing it as exemplary in service delivery and performance. He encouraged the executives and members to remain steadfast and continue building on their record of achievements.
Speaking with Mushines, the Chairman of the Mushin Olosan PCRC, Alhaji Adesope Adebowale, emphasized that PCRC membership is rooted in selfless service to the community. He noted that the committee exists to promote security and peaceful coexistence without fear or favour.
He appreciated all donors and supporters and extended warm wishes for a prosperous Christmas and New Year celebration.
Also speaking with Mushines, Mr. Anthony Olayiwola Moore, Deputy Secretary General of the Ejigbo Division and Financial Officer of Area D Command, who anchored the programme, clarified widespread misconceptions about the PCRC. He explained that the committee is not a police informant unit, but a body of community members that supervises police activities, fosters trust, and supports law enforcement in maintaining peace and order—without financial inducement or compromise.
The event underscored the growing relevance of the PCRC in strengthening police-community relations and reaffirmed the Mushin Olosan Division’s leadership role in community-based security and civic responsibility.
