Residents of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA have expressed joy and relief as beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Cash Transfer Programme received their payments ahead of the festive season.

The disbursement, which took st Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Secretariat Hall on Thursday, 11 December 2025 saw hundreds of vulnerable residents, particularly the elderly, widows, persons with disabilities, and low-income households receive their stipends to cushion economic pressures during the Yuletide.

Officials from the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) and the Conditional Cash Transfer Unit supervised the exercise to ensure transparency and smooth distribution.

Speaking with Mushines, several beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, describing the support as “timely and life-saving.”

Mrs. Adeola Ibrahim, a widow from Ojuwoye, said, “This money will help me buy some foodstuffs for Christmas. Things are hard, but this support gives me hope.”

The Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA Chairman, Hon. Seyi Jakande, through the staff of the Agric. and Social Services department, Mrs Rike, commended the Federal Government for sustaining the programme and reaffirmed the council’s commitment to ensuring that all eligible residents benefit fully. He also urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely as the festive season approaches.

The cash transfer initiative is part of the government’s broader social protection strategy aimed at reducing poverty and supporting vulnerable Nigerians.

As the community prepares for the holiday season, the payment has brought smiles, relief, and a renewed sense of belonging to many households across Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye.
