The atmosphere in Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA was electric on Friday, March 27, as the grand finale of the Discovery Talent Programme wrapped up with excitement, hope, and fresh ambition. What started as a three-day creative bootcamp quickly transformed into a life-changing platform for young talents eager to break into Nollywood.
At the centre of it all was Executive Chairman, Dr Seyi Jakande, whose bold push for youth empowerment earned him widespread praise from participants and stakeholders alike. In partnership with the Best of Nollywood Awards, the initiative delivered hands-on training, mentorship, and real industry exposure to aspiring actors and filmmakers.
For many participants, the experience was nothing short of transformational.
“This programme gave me confidence I didn’t have before. Now I truly believe I belong in Nollywood,” one graduate shared after an intensive acting session led by veteran actor Segun Arinze.
Another participant described the initiative as a turning point: “It shows our community matters. Opportunities like this can change lives—and this one has changed mine.”
The programme featured top industry figures, including Francis Kainebi Onwochei and Queen Blessing Ebigieson, whose sessions provided participants with a rare, behind-the-scenes look into the demands and rewards of the film industry.
Founder of the BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, commended the chairman’s commitment, noting that the success of the programme reflects what purposeful leadership can achieve when youth development is prioritised.
More than 50 young creatives graduated from the initiative, each leaving with new skills, industry insight, and renewed determination. The certificate presentation marked not just the end of a programme, but the beginning of new journeys—ones that could shape the future of Nollywood.
With this initiative, Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye is fast emerging as a breeding ground for creative excellence, powered by leadership that is not just seen, but deeply felt.
