The award was presented during the association's periodic meeting held at the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA Secretariat, where Medical Officers of Health from the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos converged.
Jakande, who was represented by the Council's executive members, led by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Mojeed Daramola, received the award on behalf of the council.
According to the association, the recognition followed the successful implementation of the Electronic Medical Records system across all Primary Health Care centres in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, making the council the pioneers of the digital healthcare initiative in Lagos.
The system enables patients' medical records to be securely stored and accessed across participating Primary Health Care facilities, allowing healthcare workers to retrieve vital information promptly, particularly during emergencies and referrals.
Presenting the award on behalf of AMOHN, a Director at the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board said the initiative had demonstrated the benefits of digital technology in improving healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
The director disclosed that the Lagos State Government had adopted the Electronic Medical Records system for implementation across General Hospitals and Primary Health Care Centres statewide, adding that the rollout would commence soon.
She noted that the initiative would improve efficiency in healthcare delivery, strengthen patient management and ensure continuity of care across public health facilities.
