The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development has showered praises on the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe, over what it described as remarkable strides in infrastructure and grassroots development across Mushin.

The commendation was made during an official oversight visit to the Council on Tuesday, 30th June 2026, led by the committee chairman, Hon. Ganiu Sanni Babatunde Okanlawon.

During the visit, the lawmakers reviewed several developmental projects that the Council has undertaken within the last eleven months of the Aruwe-Karaole administration, aimed at improving the living conditions of residents and boosting economic activities in the densely populated Mushin community.

Speaking after the oversight function, Hon. Okanlawon applauded Aruwe’s administration for what he called “visible and impactful governance,” noting that Mushin has witnessed steady improvements in infrastructure under the current leadership.

He, however, charged the council boss not to relent, urging him to scale up interventions, especially in security and community welfare, to further strengthen peace and development in the area.

Okanlawon also stressed the need for stronger collaboration among council officials, calling on councillors, supervisors, and management staff to continue supporting the chairman with innovative ideas and effective policies that will drive faster development.

In his response, Hon. Aruwe described the visit as a critical assessment of the council’s developmental agenda, saying it was designed to evaluate the quality, implementation level, and impact of projects executed by the local government.

According to him, the administration remains focused on transparency, accountability, and delivering democratic dividends to the people of Mushin.

He expressed appreciation to the lawmakers for the visit, adding that their inspection and feedback would further strengthen the relationship between the legislative arm and the council, while motivating his administration to sustain quality project delivery.

The visit was attended by other members of the Assembly committee, including Hon. Aro Moshood, Hon. Surajudeen Tijani, Hon. Oladele Ajayi, Hon. Sulaimon Aje, Hon. Olusegun Ige, Hon. Samuel Apata, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya, Hon. Rasheed Shabi, and Hon. Musibau Aina.

The inspection has been seen by residents as a major endorsement of the Mushin council’s development drive, with many hoping it would translate into even bigger projects and improved social amenities in the months ahead.
