The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has contained a fire at No. 14, Oke-Arin Street, llupeju, Mushin, Lagos, with no casualties or loss of life.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, when an emergency alert was received by the Agency's Alpha Eagle Team at about 1:26 p.m.

Following the distress call, the team, deployed from the Cappa Base, responded swiftly and arrived at the scene within the estimated response time.

On arrival, emergency responders found a room on the top floor of a storey building engulfed in flames.

The situation prompted a coordinated emergency operation involving the LASEMA Eagle Response Team, LASEMA Response Unit Fire Team and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

The responders battled the inferno and successfully contained the fire before it could spread to adjoining parts of the building or nearby structures.

The fire was eventually completely extinguished, while the affected area was thoroughly dampened as part of measures to prevent a possible resurgence.

LASEMA said preliminary assessment could not immediately establish the cause of the fire.

The agency, however, reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of lives and property across Lagos State, stressing the importance of rapid emergency response in preventing disasters from escalating.

Residents and business owners in Mushin are also reminded to remain vigilant and report emergencies promptly to the relevant emergency response agencies.

Fortunately, no casualties or loss of life were recorded in the Oke-Arin incident.
