The Mushin Local Government has announced a comprehensive ward-by-ward refuse evacuation exercise aimed at improving environmental sanitation and keeping communities across the council area clean.

The initiative, promoted under the message “Keep Lagos Clean, Keep Mushin Clean,” was unveiled by the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe, as part of efforts to tackle refuse accumulation and promote a cleaner environment.

According to the schedule released by the council, the exercise will cover all 10 wards in Mushin Local Government over a 10-day period.

The evacuation exercise is scheduled to commence on Monday, September 21, 2026, with Ward E, and continue as follows:

Day 1 – Monday, September 21: Ward E

Day 2 – Tuesday, September 22: Ward F

Day 3 – Wednesday, September 23: Ward J

Day 4 – Thursday, September 24: Ward G

Day 5 – Friday, September 25: Ward B

Day 6 – Saturday, September 26: Ward A

Day 7 – Monday, September 28: Ward C

Day 8 – Tuesday, September 29: Ward D

Day 9 – Wednesday, September 30: Ward H

Day 10 – Friday, October 2: Ward I

The council urged residents in each ward to cooperate with the evacuation teams by ensuring that refuse is properly packaged and made accessible for collection during the designated period.

The exercise is expected to help clear accumulated waste, improve public hygiene and reinforce the administration’s commitment to a cleaner and healthier Mushin.

The initiative is also being implemented with the support of the HALCO and City Boy Movement, as indicated on the official publicity material.

The council’s message is clear: a cleaner Mushin requires the collective responsibility of the government and residents.
