Yesterday, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government along with the Council management welcomed the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture representatives to inspect the ongoing construction of the largest fruits hub market in Lagos state by the Lagos state government in Mushin at Idi-Oro bus stop.
A modern agric hub market for fruits produces that will carter for about 1000 sellers, occupying some square meters of space in the open floor.
The facility is to provide a healthy market environment for sellers and buyers of products like bananas, maintenance, pineapples, pawpaw, watermelon and so on, which will add value to the fruits in terms of preservation and hygienic environment.
The Chairman thanked the Mr Sellable, Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu for choosing Mushin as the host local government for the first-of-its-kind fruit market in Lagos and promised to oversee the facility to remain functional and effective.
It was agreed by the inspection team to form a joint committee between the local council and state government as facility managers, the construction is about 95% completed, having standard male and female toilets, a refrigerator and a non-cooling preservation system, generating set, ambient environment, enough parking space for trucks and utility vehicles.
