The newly elected 56  Community Development Associations leaders from the 10 wards in Mushin Local Government were taken on a one-day capacity building training for community and personal development organised by the local council under the leadership of Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, the Council Chairman. 

The one-day training took place on Thursday, 20 April 2024 at the council Secretariat Hall where participants comprised of Chairmen, Secretaries, and Treasurers from all the CDAs., and organised by the Department of Agriculture and Social Services, aimed at equipping them on how to perform their leadership roles in their various CDAs.

Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, the Council Chairman was ably represented by the Vice-Chairnan, Hon. Tunbosun Aruwe Hatuna, in his word of advice to the CDAs leaders said they should always display good leadership spirit in their interactions with members of the community to reflect and justify their leadership positions. 

The Supervisor for Agriculture and Social Services, Hon. Shakiru Oyefolu, in his welcome address appreciated the Council Chairman for approving training for the CDAs leaders and assured them of the Chairman's unrelenting effort to reposition Mushin LGA as more developmental projects will be rolled out.

Also, Alhaji Aliu Sekoni, the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Community Affairs, in a paper delivered, he enlightened the community leaders on their responsibilities to the people and the Local Government and positioned themselves as follows; (1) The mouthpiece of the people in their community, (2). Act as agents of the government, (3) Play the role of Development Ambassadors and (4) Always facilitate mutual relationships between members of the community and political office holders. 

The Secretary of Mushin Community Development Committee, Alhaji Alli Shaddy who spoke with Mushines on behalf of the participants expressed great joy for being part of the training which will enhance his and other participants' leadership skills which will have a positive effect on their interaction with the people and government to bring the desired development to Mushin communities.

The training equipped the participants with the knowledge and skills required to galvanise community members to partner with the government in carrying out various developmental projects in their various communities. 

The participants were engaged by seasoned and professional lecturers in grassroots development giving them knowledge and skills needed to succeed as leaders in their various communities as Certificates of Participation were issued to participants at the end of the training.
