The 41-year-old, Gihan Mbelu, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Victoria Garden City (VGC) an Estate in the Lekki-Ajah area of Lagos State reportedly found dead in his car. 

He was found unconscious in his C300 4Matic ash-colored car around 10 am on Friday, 26 April 2024 with the ignition on and the vehicle glass rolled up around the VGC area.

The police said the matter was reported to the command by the General Manager of the Victoria Garden City Estate. 

Police detectives were deployed to the scene and Mbelu was rushed to Lagos University Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival. 

The Lagos State Police Command who confirmed the news said preliminary enquiry had commenced and further development would be made known.

His corpse has been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Adaora Mbelu a family member who shared her biography and opened an online condolence greeting platform called "Forever Miss" said, Gihan Mbelu, was 41 years old, born on October 16, 1982, and passed away on April 26, 2024.

Gihan was a son, father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, and exemplary leader who always chose love and service - always showing up for his family, friends, and community. 

"Everyone who knew Gihan knew that he cared for them. He lived passionately and deeply.

"We will miss him so much, but we are encouraged to keep living with honor for the things that he believed in - Love, Family, and Community." She wrote.
