The Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Mushin Constituency 2, Hon Yinka Kazeem popularly known as Esho has hosted a major two-in-one social support and empowerment programme, delivering educational materials to public school pupils and providing financial and physical support to persons living with disabilities.
The event, held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Mushin Local Government Secretariat Hall, attracted top dignitaries, community leaders, religious and traditional leaders, teachers, and residents.
Hundreds of pupils from public primary schools across Mushin Constituency 2 received exercise books, pens, pencils, and school bags as part of the lawmaker’s ongoing commitment to supporting education in the community.
Speaking at the event, the lawmaker noted that this was the second edition of his education support initiative.
“We want to build a future where we have good lawyers, good politicians, good accountants, good civil servants, and educated residents,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to investing in the next generation.
Distinguished personalities present included Sen. Ganiyu Olarewaju Solomon, the Apex Leader in Mushin and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye; Hon. Seye Oladejo, a former Lagos Commissioner and current PRO of the APC Lagos Chapter, the Olu of Mushin, Oba Fatai Aileru and others.
The Education Secretary of the Mushin Local Government Education Authority, Princess Olu Akinlude, praised the lawmaker for his consistency:
“This is a worthwhile investment in our pupils. I am delighted to witness this gesture as my second term in office wraps up,” she said.
The second phase of the programme focused on empowering persons living with disabilities within the constituency. The lawmaker presented ₦50,000 cash support to individuals who required financial assistance to boost their small businesses, while others received mobility aids and physical support items tailored to their needs.
He explained that this intervention was driven by a commitment to inclusion and equal access to the dividends of democracy.
“This started after I met with leaders of the disability community in Mushin, they listed their needs, and today we have met them. There is ability in disability, and no one should feel left behind,” he said.
Among the dignitaries who participated in the presentation were Hon. Nureni Akinsanya, Lagos Assembly member representing Mushin Constituency 1; HRH Oba Onitire of Itire Land; APC leaders; and community representatives.
The event ended with applause and gratitude from beneficiaries who desoooooooooo9cribed the gesture as timely, impactful, and truly inclusive, reflecting a leadership focused on community development and empowerment.
