The much-anticipated grand finale of the U13 Mushin Street Soccer Chairman’s Cup, tagged Aruwe’s Cup 2025, came to a thrilling conclusion on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Mushin Local Government Council Secretariat, Palm Avenue, with Ward F emerging as champion after an impressive display of youthful talent and teamwork.
The final match, which drew a large crowd of football enthusiasts, community leaders, and residents, saw Ward F defeat Ward J with a resounding 8–2 victory — capping off a competition filled with excitement, sportsmanship, and community spirit.
In the third-place encounter, Ward B triumphed over Ward A, scoring 5 goals to 1, to secure third position in the highly competitive grassroots football tournament.
Emmanuel Adefula from Ward J received the Golden Boot Award as the best player and highest goal scorer, with a total of 9 goals.
Speaking with Mushines News at the grand finale, the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Olatunbosun Haruna Aruwe, commended the participating wards, the Councilors, and the organizers for their active roles in discovering and nurturing young talents within the community.
According to him, “This competition is not just about football; it’s about engaging our young ones positively and helping them develop their dreams. I commend our Councilors for mobilizing their wards to participate actively. Through this initiative, we are building a generation of disciplined, talented, and ambitious youths who will represent Mushin and Nigeria in the future of world soccer.”
Hon. Aruwe further encouraged the young footballers to remain focused and disciplined, promising continued support for grassroots sports development as part of his administration’s youth empowerment agenda of catching them young.
Aruwe’s Cup 2025 is one of the activities marking the first 100 days in office of the Aruwe/Karaole-led administration, emphasizing sports as a vital tool for unity, youth engagement, and community development in Mushin.
The event ended with a colorful medal presentation ceremony, where trophies, medals, and cash prizes were awarded to the winning and participating teams amid cheers and applause from excited residents and supporters.
