The immediate past Chairman of Mushin Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Olarewaju Bamigboye, has launched a new interactive radio programme aimed at promoting the achievements and policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the grassroots level.
The programme, titled “Renew Hope with Ambassador Bamigboye,” debuted on Isokan 106.7 FM and is expected to serve as a platform to educate residents of Mushin and neighbouring communities about the objectives of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political advocacy initiative designed to highlight the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 electioneering period.
Hon. Bamigboye, who was recently inaugurated as the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for Mushin Local Government Area and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, said the programme would air every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. and would be highly interactive.
According to him, the radio programme is designed to inform, educate and engage the public on the policies and development strides recorded by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since assuming office.
Speaking in an interview with journalists shortly after the launch, Bamigboye noted that many Nigerians at the grassroots are not fully aware of several reforms and initiatives introduced by the Federal Government.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has introduced several unprecedented programmes and reforms that have never been achieved in the history of Nigeria. Unfortunately, many people at the grassroots are not fully aware of these efforts due to lack of proper information channels,” he said.
He explained that the radio programme would bridge that gap by taking the message of the administration directly to the people.
“Through this programme, we will be educating members of the public about the policies, programmes and achievements of the Renewed Hope agenda. It will also be interactive, allowing people to ask questions and understand what the government is doing for them,” Bamigboye added.
Bamigboye also stated that his appointment as the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Mushin and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye was largely due to his track record of service during his tenure as Chairman of Mushin Local Government.
“My nomination as the coordinator in Mushin and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye is largely a recognition of the unprecedented achievements recorded during my administration, particularly in the areas of road construction, social intervention programmes and community engagement,” he said.
“These experiences will be optimally utilised to ensure that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative achieves great success in mobilising and educating the grassroots,” he added.
The former council chairman emphasized that grassroots engagement remains critical in strengthening public understanding of government policies and fostering citizens’ participation in governance.
Some of the major achievements highlighted under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda include the implementation of economic reforms aimed at stabilizing the nation’s economy, the removal of fuel subsidy to redirect resources into development, and the introduction of palliative measures to cushion the impact on citizens.
The administration has also launched the Students Loan Scheme to support access to tertiary education, initiated efforts to strengthen local government autonomy, and embarked on infrastructure development projects across different parts of the country.
Additionally, the Federal Government has introduced social investment and youth empowerment programmes designed to stimulate economic growth, support small businesses and create employment opportunities for Nigerians.
Bamigboye expressed optimism that the radio programme would help residents better understand these initiatives and appreciate the impact of government policies on their daily lives.
“Our goal is simple—to ensure that the message of Renewed Hope reaches every household. When people understand the programmes and their benefits, they will be able to make informed decisions and support policies that promote national development,” he said.
He further encouraged residents of Mushin and surrounding communities to tune in to the programme weekly and participate in the discussions by calling in to share their views and ask questions.
The “Renew Hope with Ambassador Bamigboye” programme is expected to serve as a strategic communication platform to connect government policies with the grassroots population while fostering dialogue between political leaders and the people.
