The Chairman of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Seyi Jakande is set to launch a coordinated crime control scheme to secure Odi-olowo community called Odi-olowo Light-ip CCTV Camera Scheme. 

This was agreed upon after the successful operation of the established special task force dedicated to protect lives and property of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye conmunity round the clock. 

The Council Chairman made this known during his visit to the Oginmokun/ Kayode Flyover and pedestrian bridge which has been known to be a blackspot for criminals considering the recent attack on a pedestrian that was thrown off the bridge. 

Speaking with Mushines News, the Chairman said it was observed that not the streetlight is not working but the criminals cut off the wire that supply power to each of the streetlight by the pole making the place dark at night. 

"On Tuesday, 29 July, 2025, we had a meeting of the Peace and Security Committee of the LCDA, bringing together leaders from various security agencies like Mushin Police Division, Ilupeju Police Division, Alakara Police Division, the Department of State Security, Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, Odi-Olowo Transportation and Environmental Corps (OTEC), the Hunter Group of Nigeria, and the Vigilante Group, and all pledged their commitment to work hand-in-hand to combat insecurity within the community. 

"As part of my HEWA agenda which security of lives and properties is a priority, we established a special task force to run a 24 hours security surveillance and intelligence and the operation was successful with the arrest of nine suspects on a first day of the operation". He said. 

He said in order to continue with the 24 hours surveillance, "We are lauching Odi-olowo Light-up CCTV Camera Scheme at strategic places known to be constituting security threat with a pilot study at the Ogunmokun/ Kayode Flyover bridge, so that we can have real-time surveillance and intelligence garthering of the blackspot".

As at the time of writing this report, the CCTVs have been installed with solar streetlight at the two exit points and middle of the flyover bridge facing the pedestrian bridge. 

The solar light CCTV camera is of high standard that can capture scenes from the bridge 24 hours and be stored in the iCloud operated by the council.
