A private school proprietor in Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Pastor Abraham Olaluwoye of Abraham's Seeds International School at Matanmi Street by Kayode Street, has awarded scholarships to 40 out-of-school children in the community during the 2024/2025 school year graduation ceremony held on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at Christ Embassy Hall, Matanmi Street.
The graduation and scholarship presentation ceremony was well attended by graduating pupils and students, parents of graduands, Matanmi CDA leaders and members, friends and family. The Executive Chairman of Odi-olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande, was ably represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Ogungbe Taiwo, alongside other dignitaries.
Speaking with MUSHINES News, the school proprietor explained that the 40-scholarship program was borne out of his previous scholarship initiatives under the Pastor Abraham Olaluwoye (PAO) Education Foundation. He said the foundation was inspired by an out-of-school girl he once found working as a plate washer in a canteen at his new location in Mowe, Ogun State.
"Seeing the little girl who was supposed to be in school washing plates in a canteen got me worried, and I made sure I enrolled her and two of her siblings who could not afford basic education," he said.
He further explained that the scholarship program is divided into different categories: the primary section, which covers tuition fees and other expenses for the next six years; and the secondary section, which pays all expenses for JSS 1 to 3, another set for SSS 1 to 3, while other beneficiaries will receive free GCE WAEC, and NECO forms next year.
He called on individuals, organizations, and school proprietors to support or follow suit with such initiatives to help out-of-school children within their neighborhoods.
"When we help these out-of-school children to get back to school, who knows what tommorow might be for them with the opportunity, by so doing we are reducing the number of hoodlums, social miscreants and thugs in our community. " He said.
Dignitaries in attendance applauded Pastor Olaluwoye for the gesture, considering the rising cost of education today, and some declared their interest in joining him financially to sustain the program.
Graduands of the school were presented with Secondary School Certificates and Testimonials, while beneficiaries of the scholarship received Letters of Offer.
