The Federal Government has inaugurated the board members of the newly established South West Development Commission (SWDC), with former Lagos State lawmaker, Hon. Oluwafunmilayo Tejuosho, representing Mushin Constituency 1 officially assuming office as the Executive Director.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Abuja, brought together key government officials, political leaders, and stakeholders from the South West region, marking a historic step in the Commission’s mandate to drive socio-economic growth, infrastructure development, and regional integration.

In her remarks, Hon. Tejuosho expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her, pledging to work tirelessly with other board members to ensure that the Commission fulfills its mission of addressing developmental challenges in the region.

“This appointment is not just a personal honor, but a call to service for the progress of the South West, we are committed to delivering on infrastructure, youth empowerment, economic growth, and sustainable development for the benefit of our people.” she said. 

The South West Development Commission, recently established by an Act of the National Assembly, is expected to serve as a catalyst for regional transformation, focusing on infrastructure renewal, industrialization, and socio-economic empowerment.

Stakeholders at the event hailed the appointment of Hon. Tejuosho, describing her as a tested leader with years of legislative and public service experience. They expressed confidence that her leadership would bring fresh energy to the Commission’s vision of advancing the South West as a hub of economic prosperity in Nigeria.
