The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Seyi Jakande, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his longtime friend and ally, Alhaji Waheed Shonibare, the Chief Executive Officer of Twice as Nice clothing, who died today., Tuesday, 7 October 2025.

In an emotional message, Jakande described the late business icon as “a man of integrity, compassion, and tireless service,” noting that Shonibare’s influence extended far beyond the boardroom.

Late Shonibare’s remarkable impact on Nigeria’s fashion industry as the CEO of the luxury clothing brand Twice as Nice, known for its premium formal and casual shirts that can compete with international brands such as TM Lewin, Tom & Keith, and others. With outlets across Nigeria and diasporas. 

Hon. Jakande praised the late CEO for his leadership, commitment to community development, and dedication to creating opportunities for others, noting that his warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Speaking on behalf of the people of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Jakande extended heartfelt condolences to the Shonibare family, the staff of Twice as Nice, and all who were touched by his life.

 “We mourn his loss but also celebrate a life lived with purpose, dignity, and positive impact,” Jakande said.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of Alhaji Shonibare’s soul.
