The administration of Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe, Chairman of Mushin Local Government, has dismissed allegations linking him to an alleged attack on Adewale Ishola, popularly known as “Gaddafi,” during the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election in Mushin Constituency II at New City Primary School.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary of Mushin Local Government, Comrade Mustapha, the council chairman described claims made in a viral video by Ishola as “false, baseless, and misleading.” The statement accused Gaddafi of attempting to spread misinformation and stir political tension within the party and the Mushin community.

According to the council, Adewale “Gaddafi” Ishola, said to be from Mushin Constituency I, was reportedly present at Ward G1, Atewolara — the designated venue for the Mushin Constituency II APC primary election and the ward of the council chairman. Officials claimed his presence at the venue led to tension after alleged confrontations with some individuals over pre-existing grievances.

The local government maintained that Chairman Aruwe neither ordered nor participated in any attack against Ishola, contrary to claims circulating online. Rather, the statement alleged that the chairman stepped in to prevent further escalation when some persons reportedly attempted to apprehend Gaddafi over what was described as disruptive conduct at the polling centre.

“The Chairman remains committed to peace, democracy, party unity, and the conduct of free and fair electoral processes across Mushin Local Government,” the statement read, while urging political stakeholders and supporters to avoid spreading false information capable of inciting unrest.

The council further advised APC members and residents to disregard what it termed “fabricated stories” surrounding the incident, reiterating its commitment to maintaining peace and order within the local government during the political process.
