The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has reaffirmed its dominance in Nigeria’s traffic control and road safety landscape, clinching the prestigious “State Traffic Management Agency of the Year” award at the 2025 Nigeria Transport and Logistics Leadership Awards.
The highly coveted award, presented on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, came after a nationwide nomination and online voting process that recognized LASTMA as the country’s leading traffic management agency.
Receiving the award on behalf of the General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, LASTMA’s Director of Logistics and Transport, Mr. Jubril Oshodi, expressed profound gratitude to the organisers and the voting public for acknowledging the agency’s commitment to traffic efficiency, safety, and innovation in Lagos.
Oshodi dedicated the honour to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, whose visionary leadership, he said, has empowered the Authority to achieve operational excellence. He also commended the Ministry of Transportation for its strategic oversight and continued support.
In a post-award statement, Mr. Bakare-Oki described the recognition as “both a distinguished honour and a renewed call to service,” reiterating LASTMA’s pledge to uphold professionalism, discipline, and innovation in line with global best practices.
He noted that the agency remains committed to leveraging technology, human capital development, and stakeholder collaboration to tackle Lagos’ complex traffic challenges.
The 2025 Transport and Logistics Summit brought together top policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders, including Senator Sa’id Ahmed Alkali, the Minister of Transportation, and FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, to celebrate individuals and organisations driving transformation in Nigeria’s transport sector.
LASTMA’s recognition not only cements its place as a national model for effective traffic management but also underscores Lagos State’s leadership in sustainable urban transport reforms.
