The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, January 5, 2026, commenced its nationwide electronic registration and revalidation exercise for party members, marking a major step toward strengthening its grassroots base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise, which began simultaneously across the country, is aimed at updating the party’s membership database, renewing the loyalty of existing members, and onboarding new entrants into the ruling party. Party leaders described the e-registration as a strategic move to deepen internal democracy and reposition the APC for future electoral victories.
In Mushin Local Government Area, with an extension to Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the registration exercise commenced across all 14 wards. Party members and new entrants turned out in large numbers, as the process was seamless, fast, and hitch-free. Registrants were only required to present their National Identification Number (NIN) and Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to complete the exercise.
At Ward G1, the APC Secretariat of the Mushin Chapter located on Palm Avenue, Mushin, the Council Chairman, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe, formally renewed his party membership, setting the pace for other party faithful.
Speaking after the exercise, Hon. Aruwe urged party members to take the registration seriously, describing it as crucial to the party’s future success.
“This e-registration is very important as we approach the 2027 general election. I urge all loyal members to fully participate and encourage others to join us. APC remains the party to beat, and Mushin residents should come on board this moving train,” he said.
The APC Chairman in Mushin, Hon. Babatunde Shitta-Bey, who was present at the registration venue, emphasized the need for members to renew their membership and mobilize others to join the party.
“This exercise is not just about renewal; it is about strengthening our structure. Members should come along with their families, friends, and well-wishers to register with APC as we continue to shape the present for a brighter future,” Shitta-Bey stated.
He also highlighted some of the achievements recorded so far by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the administration’s reforms were gradually repositioning the country for sustainable growth.
In Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, the Council Chairman, Hon. Seyi Jakande, renewed his membership at the Ward L, Ilupeju registration centre and toured several wards to inspect and ensure a smooth registration process, alongside his Vice Chairman and the APC LCDA Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kazeem.
Addressing party members during the inspection, Hon. Jakande called for aggressive grassroots mobilization for the membership registration.
“I want to encourage our loyal members to begin house-to-house campaigns so that party lovers and well-wishers can become card-carrying members. This is how we will secure a well-deserved victory in 2027,” he said.
He observed that turnout was gradually increasing on the first day of the exercise and pledged the council’s full support to ensure the success of the registration across all wards.
The APC Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA Chapter Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kazeem, expressed optimism that the ongoing e-registration exercise would further consolidate the party’s dominance and enhance its preparedness for the 2027 general elections.
