It was a day of unity, progress, and renewed commitment as Hon. Nureni Akinsanya, popularly known as OSMAK, and Hon. Olayinka Kazeem, fondly called Esho, representing Mushin Constituencies I and II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, hosted their 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting with the theme “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The annual meeting, which provides a platform for lawmakers to interact with their constituents and share feedback with both the state and federal governments, was held simultaneously across all 40 constituencies in Lagos on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

In Mushin Constituency I, stakeholders gathered at Solomon Hall, Olateju Street, while the Great Hall of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) hosted stakeholders from Mushin Constituency II. Leaders, elders, market women, youth groups, artisans, and professionals turned out in large numbers to participate.

Reading the keynote address of Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, both lawmakers highlighted the impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda—ranging from infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, and student loans, to food security, healthcare improvements, and stronger security measures.

The Speaker noted that President Tinubu’s reforms have stabilised the economy through diversification and fiscal discipline. “Investor confidence has been boosted, our credit rating has improved, and Nigeria now stands on a stronger foundation for sustainable growth,” he said. He also commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for achievements in urban renewal, modern transport systems, and affordable housing projects, made possible through the synergy between the executive and the Assembly.

In Mushin Constituency I, Hon. Akinsanya praised Speaker Obasa’s leadership and the Assembly’s role in passing over 467 resolutions. He also announced an educational initiative tagged “Back to School Packs”, scheduled for September 18 and 19, where pupils in 27 public primary schools will receive free school bags and writing materials.

In Mushin Constituency II, Hon. Kazeem (Esho) reassured constituents of his dedication to service. “With your prayers and support, I promise never to disappoint you. We will expand empowerment programmes, strengthen our constituency, and keep delivering the dividends of democracy,” he said. He also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support during the last election and promised even greater service ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Both lawmakers stressed the importance of obtaining Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), urging stakeholders to mobilise their members for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise. They emphasised that voter participation remains key to accessing government programmes and shaping the future.

The meetings were well attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, market associations, artisans, women groups, youth organisations, professional bodies, and APC leaders. They all tabled their community needs before the representatives which was taken note by the State agent as inputs for a stronger community and a brighter future
