The daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has threatened a protest over the outcome of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos State, alleging that the process favoured members of the party’s Justice Forum bloc.

According to a Punch online report, the Iyaloja General, speaking during a weekly meeting with market leaders and stakeholders at her office in Alausa, Ikeja, on Wednesday, expressed dissatisfaction with the results released by the Lagos APC, particularly in Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Agege Constituency 2, and Ojokoro constituencies.

The Lagos chapter of the APC had earlier announced candidates who emerged from its House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. The list, signed by the party’s state chairman, showed that 24 candidates secured House of Representatives tickets, while 40 candidates emerged for the Lagos State House of Assembly seats.

Tinubu-Ojo alleged that some candidates who genuinely won their contests were being denied their mandates, citing figures such as Hon. Seye Oladejo in Mushin Federal Constituency 2, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo in Agege 2, and Olotu Ojo in Ojokoro as rightful winners.

“We are ready to protest because we know they won this election,” she declared, while calling on party leaders at both the state and national levels to urgently intervene and review the disputed outcomes before final ratification.

She warned that unresolved grievances could deepen internal cracks within the ruling party and weaken unity ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to her, internal party structures were increasingly influenced by factional interests between the Justice Forum and Mandate Group.

Tinubu-Ojo argued that the growing political alignment towards the Justice Forum was being fuelled by perceptions surrounding the governorship ambition of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, who is believed to belong to the bloc.

Calling for an end to factional divisions, she urged the APC to dismantle internal groupings and embrace inclusiveness, stressing that party leadership must carry every member along irrespective of political affiliations.

She also reaffirmed the support of market women across Lagos for Hamzat’s governorship ambition and other APC candidates, while insisting that traders, who play a significant role in Lagos politics, deserve greater political recognition and inclusion in governance and appointments.
