That was the emphatic declaration from former Lagos APC spokesman, Hon. Seye Oladejo, as he formally joined the race for the Mushin Constituency II seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration, which had different All Progressives Congress (APC) party leaders and members of the Mandate Movement under the leadership and guidance of the APC apex leader in Mushin and Odi-olowo Ojuwoye, Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member; Distinguished Senator Ganiu Olarewaju Solomon in attendance at the Late Chief Rafiu Solomon ground, Olateju Street, Mushin. 

Before a charged crowd of party loyalists, market leaders, artisans, youths, and community stakeholders in Mushin Constituency II on Saturday, 9 May 2026. The former local government chairman presented himself as a tested grassroots politician ready to return to active legislative service with what he described as a clear agenda for development, empowerment and effective representation.

Oladejo, who once served as chairman of Mushin Local Government, said his political journey and years in public office had prepared him for the responsibility of representing the constituency at the National Assembly.

“I am the same man you made your secretary and later chairman of Mushin Local Government,” he told supporters amid cheers.

“I later became Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry to the Governor and Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations. Today, I am here again to seek your support and mandate to represent Mushin Constituency II at the House of Representatives, send me, and I will deliver.”

Projecting confidence in his capacity, Oladejo declared that Mushin deserved a representative with experience, accessibility and the ability to influence national policies in favour of the people.

“Leadership is not about making noise; it is about visible impact, responsibility and results. Mushin deserves a stronger voice and quality representation at the National Assembly,” he said.

The APC stalwart used the occasion to unveil what he called “The Pact” — a social contract between himself and the people of Mushin Constituency II — promising to pursue people-centred legislation if elected in 2027.

Among the bills he pledged to champion are the Lagos Special Status and Infrastructure Support Bill, the Local Government Autonomy and Recognition Bill, and the National Youth Skills and Employment Development Bill.

According to him, the proposed youth development legislation would create vocational, technical and digital opportunities for young people and artisans within the constituency.

“Lagos State remains Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre and deserves a special status. Our 37 LCDAs should also receive proper constitutional recognition,” Oladejo stated.

Beyond legislation, the aspirant promised intervention programmes in education, healthcare, youth development and entrepreneurship.

He pledged free JAMB and GCE forms for indigent students, scholarships for brilliant students in tertiary institutions and support initiatives for artisans through collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund.

Oladejo also promised free medical outreach programmes, mental health advocacy and the establishment of a Senior Citizens Wellness Centre in the constituency.

In a move targeted at the younger population, he vowed to organise sporting competitions, talent discovery platforms and mentorship programmes for youths interested in sports, music, acting and entertainment.

Dignitaries speaking at the event praised Hon. Seye Oladejo, testifying to his good character, which has earned him such support from party members and the community. They urged party members to vote for him during the primary scheduled for next Friday, the 15th.

Support continues to build for the House of Representatives aspiration of Seye Oladejo as key leaders publicly endorsed his candidacy ahead of the party’s primary election.

Director-General of the Hon. Seye Oladejo Campaign Organisation, Kayode Sobande, described Oladejo as a tested grassroots politician with proven administrative experience, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver quality representation for Mushin Constituency II. “When he gets to the House of Representatives, he will do a lot for the people of Mushin Federal Constituency. We must support and vote for him,” Sobande said.

Also endorsing the aspirant, Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Olatubosun Aruwe, declared Oladejo “the candidate of the people” and urged party members to support him during the APC primary election, while APC Mandate Group Chairman in Mushin, Abdulfatai Idowu, appealed for unity among party loyalists ahead of the polls. 

The APC party leaders and members also declared their support for Hon. Nureni Akinsanya and Hon. Yinka Kazeem of Mushin Constituency I and II, respectively seeking re-election into the Lagos State House of Assembly.
