Senator Ganiu Olarewaju Solomon (GOS), the apex political leader of Mushin and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye and a member of the Lagos State Governor's Advisory Council, has showered praise on Mushin Local Government Chairman, Hon. Olatunbosun Haruna Aruwe, describing his first year in office as one marked by remarkable infrastructural transformation.

Speaking as the distinguished guest of honour during the commissioning of newly reconstructed roads across Mushin, Senator GOS declared that the chairman had exceeded his expectations with the pace and scale of development witnessed within just one year.

Standing before residents at the commissioning of Alasalatu Street, the veteran politician could not hide his admiration.

"I must say this: I am happy with you and your team for this good work you have started with. I'm really impressed! I believe you will keep the momentum going as you count more years in office."

The senator also urged residents to protect the newly completed projects by maintaining the roads and ensuring they are not abused.

Addressing hundreds of residents, Chairman Aruwe revealed that his administration has completed 11 roads in one year, while construction is currently ongoing on Oloje Street, Adedeji Street and Afisi Street.

"Currently, we have completed eleven roads, while three others are ongoing. I want to assure our people that we will continue constructing roads across Mushin," he said.

According to the chairman, the roads were strategically selected to ease traffic congestion, improve commercial activities, and strengthen security by installing solar-powered streetlights that now illuminate the communities at night.

Vice Chairman Hon. Semiu Ishola Karaole also appealed to residents to preserve the new infrastructure by preventing indiscriminate parking and the abandonment of broken-down vehicles on the roads.

Residents of Alasalatu and Moshalasi Streets expressed gratitude to the council, saying the reconstruction and installation of solar streetlights have transformed their neighbourhood.

A representative of the Community Development Association said the projects have significantly reduced hoodlum activities and youth unrest while restoring confidence among residents.

After commissioning Alasalatu and Moshalasi Streets, the convoy moved to Tadeyo Street, another road that had suffered years of neglect before being completely rebuilt by the Aruwe administration.

The exercise continued to Akingbola and Cash Streets within the busy Amu Market axis. For years, Akingbola Street had been an environmental eyesore despite serving as a major alternative route for motorists heading towards the popular Ladipo spare parts market.

The commissioning exercise later spread across Mushin as Hon. Toyin Fayinka, representing Mushin Constituency II in the House of Representatives, joined the exercise to commission Garuba Musa Street and Alves Street in the Idi-Araba community.

Also participating was Hon. Yinka Kazeem, representing Mushin Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, who commissioned Jumoke Way and Ibiosi Street.

At every stop, jubilant residents lined the streets to welcome the dignitaries, celebrating what many described as one of the most extensive road renewal drives witnessed in Mushin in recent years.

The large turnout and enthusiastic reception reflected growing public appreciation for the administration's infrastructure agenda as Aruwe marks his first anniversary in office, with more projects already underway across the local government.
