The immediate past Chairman of Mushin Local Government Area and Coordinator of the Mushin Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hon. Emmanuel Olarewaju Bamigboye, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves a second term in office, citing what he described as the administration's landmark achievements in infrastructure, education, security and grassroots development.

Bamigboye made the declaration during the maiden edition of his newly launched interactive radio programme, "Renew Hope with Ambassador Bamigboye," on Isokan 106.7 FM, a weekly broadcast designed to promote the policies, programmes and achievements of President Tinubu while engaging residents of Mushin and neighbouring communities ahead of the 2027 general election season.

The former council chairman explained that the programme was created to bridge the information gap between the Federal Government and ordinary Nigerians by providing factual explanations on the administration's policies and their long-term benefits.

According to him, the initiative will serve as an avenue to inform, educate and engage members of the public on the reforms and developmental strides recorded by President Tinubu since assuming office.

Bamigboye lamented that many Nigerians at the grassroots are either unaware of several transformative policies introduced by the Federal Government or are only interested in immediate personal gains instead of appreciating projects that would benefit entire communities and future generations.

Speaking passionately on the programme, he highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), popularly known as the student loan scheme, as one of the administration's most impactful initiatives, saying it has opened doors for thousands of Nigerian students who previously struggled to finance higher education.

He also praised the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Badagry-Sokoto Highway projects, describing them as legacy infrastructure that would transform transportation, commerce and economic activities across the country.

Bamigboye recalled that before President Tinubu assumed office, many interstate highways had deteriorated to the extent that commuters were forced to abandon vehicles and trek through bad portions of roads before continuing their journeys.

"Those who travel by road understand the difference better than those who travel by air. There were roads where passengers had to come down from buses and walk for several kilometres because the roads were completely impassable.

"Today, the President has demonstrated uncommon courage by embarking on projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. It is a legacy project that generations yet unborn will benefit from. Imagine travelling from Lagos to Calabar by road in about six hours. That is the Renewed Hope we are talking about," he said.

On security, Bamigboye commended the President for strengthening the nation's fight against terrorism, banditry and kidnapping.

According to him, the Federal Government has recorded remarkable progress in restoring security across several parts of the country through improved intelligence gathering, better welfare for security personnel and strategic military operations.

He referenced the recent rescue of the abducted Orire schoolchildren as evidence of the government's renewed commitment to protecting lives and property.

He further applauded President Tinubu's approval of a major expansion of the Nigerian Army, increasing the number of divisions from eight to twelve and authorising the recruitment of 28,000 additional soldiers to boost the nation's security architecture and tackle violent crimes across Nigeria.

Bamigboye equally applauded the President for strengthening local government administration through improved financial autonomy and increased allocations to councils, saying the policy has empowered local governments to execute projects that directly impact the lives of residents.

Drawing from his experience as former Chairman of Mushin Local Government, he noted that the improved funding enabled his administration to embark on massive infrastructural development, including the construction and rehabilitation of over 90 roads as well as the establishment of the local government radio station, which he described as one of his legacy projects.

"These achievements would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who understands that local governments are the closest tier of government to the people and deserve adequate resources to deliver meaningful development," he stated.

The interactive programme also featured live phone-in sessions, with callers from Mushin and adjoining communities actively participating by asking questions, sharing opinions and expressing appreciation for the initiative.

Several callers commended Bamigboye for creating a platform that allows residents to better understand government policies and engage directly on national issues affecting their daily lives.

The programme ended with a renewed call on Nigerians, particularly those at the grassroots, to continue supporting President Tinubu's administration while remaining hopeful about the country's future, as Bamigboye insisted that the ongoing reforms would yield even greater dividends in the years ahead
