The golden son of Mushin, a Fuji music legend Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, popularly known as Pasuma, has issued a stern warning to individuals and organisations allegedly exploiting his intellectual property without authorisation, threatening legal action against violators.

In a cease-and-desist notice dated June 5, 2026, and released to journalists on Saturday, the veteran entertainer expressed concern over what he described as the widespread unauthorised use of his music, image, and personal brand across digital platforms.

According to the Mushin-born and bred singer, several entities have allegedly uploaded, distributed, streamed, and commercially exploited his sound recordings, musical compositions, likeness, and visual content without securing his written approval.

Pasuma maintained that such activities, allegedly carried out on streaming services, video-on-demand platforms, app stores, blogs, lyrics websites, gaming channels, and other digital outlets, violate provisions of the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022.

The Fuji icon demanded the immediate removal of all unauthorised content linked to him and ordered those involved to halt every form of distribution, promotion, sale, or commercial exploitation of his creative works.

He also requested a detailed financial account of revenues generated from the alleged unauthorised use of his materials and directed any party claiming legal rights to his content to provide valid licensing agreements or written authorisation issued by him or his representatives.

“It has come to my attention that entities are engaging in activities that constitute exploitation of my intellectual property rights, including my image rights, likeness, sound recordings, musical works, and visual recordings,” the notice stated.

The singer gave the affected parties a 14-day ultimatum, ending June 19, 2026, to comply with his demands or face legal consequences.

Pasuma warned that failure to act could result in court proceedings seeking injunctions, monetary compensation, and possible criminal liabilities against defaulting individuals and corporate organisations under Nigerian law.
